  • 15 September – SSMCP General Membership Meeting

Join the South Sound Military & Communities Partnership (SSMCP) General Membership Meeting to connect with regional leaders, military partners, local governments, nonprofits, educational institutions, businesses, and community organizations working together to strengthen the South Sound region.

Attendees will receive updates on SSMCP initiatives and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, learn about emerging regional priorities, and participate in collaborative discussions that help shape the Partnership’s future work. The meeting also provides valuable networking opportunities and a forum for sharing ideas, building partnerships, and advancing solutions that support military readiness, community resilience, and military family quality of life.

  • 24 September – SSMCP Steering Committee Retreat

An annual strategic planning session that brings together regional leaders from Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), local governments, state agencies, tribal partners, educational institutions, nonprofits, and businesses to establish the Partnership’s priorities for the coming year.

Through facilitated discussions and collaborative planning, participants identify emerging challenges, explore opportunities for regional collaboration, and help shape initiatives that strengthen military readiness, community resilience, and the quality of life for military members, veterans, and their families across the South Sound.
    * This meeting is open to the SSMCP Steering Committee only.

  • 30 October – SSMCP Behavioral Health Forum

Join behavioral health professionals, military leaders, healthcare organizations, veterans’ services, community providers, and government partners for an interactive forum focused on improving behavioral health coordination across the South Sound region.

This year’s forum marks a new approach. Rather than a series of presentations, participants will engage in collaborative discussions designed to strengthen relationships, identify shared challenges, and develop practical solutions that improve coordination between military and civilian behavioral health systems.
